How do I select a security provider?

The Ohio Burglar & Fire Alarm Association, The National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association, as well as your Local Fire or Police Department can assist you with this process once you have made the decision to have a security system installed at your home or business.

Is it necessary to purchase equipment through RSS, or can you monitor a pre-existing system that has been installed in my home?

It is very unlikely that Rhodes Security would not be able to monitor an existing security system. Please contact our office to schedule a complimentary appointment for one of our trained technicians to check over your system to ensure that Rhodes Security is able to provide monitoring services for you.

Can you install wireless security systems?

Yes. Rhodes Security can accommodate either wireless or hard-wired security systems base on our customers’ needs and preferences.

Will my security system continue to operate in the event of a power loss?

Yes. Each security system that Rhodes Security installs contains a rechargeable back up battery to ensure that in the event of a power loss, you will be able to maintain the security protection on your home or business. Depending on the age and prior usage of your battery, your system may continue to function for a minimum of 4 hours, and could operate up to an additional 48 – 72 hours.

Do you offer packages?

At this time, we do not offer packages. This is because we pride ourselves on customer service and want to ensure that you receive a personalized experience. Any company can install and monitor a security system, but not just any company can make you feel secure. Your faith in our products and services is important to us. Each customer has specific needs and it is our goal to make sure that your needs are provided for based on the equipment that you feel is necessary to protect your home or business.

I already bought my own equipment. Will you install it?

Yes.  However… if you plan to purchase a new system for us to install, we highly recommend that you do so through us.  This is because if you purchase your equipment elsewhere, we will be unable to offer the same warranty as we do with our own.  We would much rather offer you the peace of mind, knowing our skilled technicians are installing reliable equipment to protect you and your family.

Do you install and monitor emergency medical equipment?

Yes. Rhodes Security can install and monitor medical watches, pendants, and necklaces, as well as stand alone medical buttons and units. In most cases, it can simply be added to your existing security system, without having to replace any equipment.

How Often should I have my security system inspected?

It is advised that you have a service inspection performed annually to ensure that your system is operating and communicating properly.  Ask us about our annual maintenance packages!

How often should I have the back up battery changed?

The average shelf life of a back up battery is rated at 3 – 5 years. After this amount of time, or if it is used as a main power source more frequently, the battery may not be able to recharge itself. It is suggested that the battery is changed no more than 5 years after the original installation date or the last date that you had the battery changed.

Do you give incentives for referring potential customers to your company?

Absolutely!  We have implemented a monitoring service credit program to reward you with free security monitoring as a way of thanking our current customers for any future customers that may choose our company to provide their residential and/or commercial security needs.
